Buzz's Final Slammiversary Thoughts; Solid Card with Poor Advertising

Tonight the night of celebration in TNA Wrestling with the company hosting its 7th annual Slammiversary PPV, the company which had “weeks to live” 7 years ago has turned into a true alternative for the wrestling world and it’s all down to hard work and dedication.

While it’s a night TNA should really sell itself with the “Anniversary PPV” slogan I’ve been truly disappointed with the real lack of match depth this year and with the undercard only being announced this Thursday its mind boggling to know why TNA promoted this show so poorly.

So why with 5 weeks’ worth of hype did they only have 3 announced matches going into the final week of a PPV? Really disappointed and quite frankly I can understand the buy rates being so low when TNA really does not want to promote the card like it should have been.

Anyway the card looks interesting to say the least; especially the King of the Mountain matches and it’s going to be interesting to see who comes out both matches with the gold. The Tag Team title match is one which I’m really looking forward to as well as the Knockout title match and the Sting/Morgan match which I suggested should have been put off until Bound for Glory.

The X-Division King of the Mountain match has the potential to really steal the show and push the boundaries for the King of the Mountain match; I’d be very surprised to see anybody other than Suicide winning this match but if it does change hands it will surely go to Alex Shelley or Chris Sabin. It’d be really nice to see Sabin run with the gold again and have him focus on the X-Division Championship for a while.

The World Title match is most certainly going to have a title change, Joe unfortunately is injured so I cannot see TNA putting the gold on him, AJ Styles is the Legends Champion and adding the belt will really not help him further (Please put him in a long term feud for the Legends Title!), Kurt is doing his thing with the Main Event Mafia and there’s a Joe/Angle feud coming up which will indicate that Jarrett will be walking out with the gold tonight. While from a storyline point of view it would be good to have Jarrett gain back some power I’m not sure the fans really want another title range, if he does lose the title it’ll surely have to involve Eric Young.

Anyway enough of the predictions, Slammiversary is less than 2 hours away, Enjoy the Show and feel free to add your show opinion on our forums.
