With me being the huge TNA fan & merchandise collector I am, I knew the next time the TNA World Replica popped up at ShopTNA I had to have it since I missed out on the first time. Of course it popped up and I decided that I wanted to it so bad that I was willing to sell off about a 10 year wrestling action figure collection to get it. So, I placed the order for it (and a couple of others things) and a couple of a weeks later it all arrived at my door and I tore into the package like a kid opening up a birthday present and was instantly glad I ordered it. I have had a WWE replica in the past that I got as a birthday gift because everyone told me that replicas were a great thing to have and the WWE one was a great gift but it wasn’t what it should have been or could’ve been. The TNA World replica is the EXACT OPPOSITE of that. Now, since I’ve bored you guys to death let’s get on with the actual review.
Plates: Now, I’m not sure exactly what they’re made of so I won’t comment on that. What I will comment on is how great and real it looks. The etching on the design on the plates is stunning with how deep it is. The main plate is about 10 inches high and 11 inches wide which is pretty huge for a wrestling belt, in my opinion. The side plates are about 5 inches high & 4 inches wide with the thickness being about 4MM. It’s exactly how it should look – like the real thing. It doesn’t look like TNA went out and said “Here, just make the belt as cheap as you can”. The makers (premier belts) did an amazing job on the plates alone. Oh, and the plates also “pop” out so to speak on each side of the plate and gives it an even more realistic look to it when it’s on your shoulder, folded up on a table, or on your waist.
Strap:The strap just adds to the plates. It makes the belt that much better. For anyone who’s ever had a replica belt you know how stiff the strap is where it’s not “floppy” like it is with the real one and this strap is NOTHING like that. The strap on this appears to be half leather and half vinyl (if you look hard enough you can see a “seam” showing that it’s two different materials) and is floppy. But, don’t take “floppy” as it flops around like it’s cheap. It flops around like the it does on TV – basically you can have it held or sat anyway you want.
Overall: My over-all opinion on the belt is this. If you want a wrestling replica belt that is basically a mold of the real thing and isn’t some hard to bend/move pile of crap that’ll screw up in 3-4 weeks, this is the one to get. I’ve had it for a few weeks now (3-4) and have had ZERO problems with it unlike others I’ve had (or friends have had). Now, I know some people look at the price and say “Oh, it’s over-priced” and how the WWE’s belts sell for “half” the price. But, what these people don’t see is that this is NOT a “regular” WWE replica. This is an ultra deluxe belt with the center piece being 10/11 inches tall, 4MM plates, and 7 (or so) pounds which the WWE World Heavyweight Championship ultra-deluxe sells at on line shops for $599.99 – TNA’s is $499.99. So, there’s $100 or so difference in the two. It also comes with a TNA Logo Storage Back (But, if you wear it around once or twice do NOT store in the bag. It’ll get stained with odor and possibly from the bag! Only use the bag for quick storage)
Rating: 10/10
