Fantasy Booking: Bound for Glory 2009

Bound for Glory is now less than 2 months away, and TNA have started to plant the seeds for the biggest TNA Pay Per View of the Year as they head towards the Bren Events Center at University of California at Irvine in Irvine, California.

For me personally when the very first Bound for Glory was officially announced after years of speculation i had to be apart of the show, and loved every minute of the show being inside the iMPACT Zone and finally having a chance to meet some of the TNA guys i had been watching for years. So with TNA’s 5 Annual Bound for Glory PPV on the horizon, here’s a run down of a number of 3 matches I would love to see:

The Two Icons Collide: AJ Styles vs Sting

stingajTNA this past week officially announced the poster for the show and after months of speculation regarding Sting’s future, it’s going to be an emotional night for the Stinger as he bows out of TNA Wrestling and what a better way to go out that fighting the “Icon” of TNA, AJ Styles.

AJ has done everything he possibly can in TNA, but his drive and determination is still there and he wants to take the company he built up to the top of the ladder, having a true AJ vs Sting would be the final match that a lot of us fans have wanted to see, and given the correct time and build up (Which started on Thursday) both of these guys would put on a classic for the TNA fans, the perfect way for Sting to go out.

The Two Hardcore Icons: Mick Foley vs Abyss

abyssfoleyMick Foley for me over the past 3/4 months has been fantastic for TNA, while when he signed i was lookign forward to what he could do inside the 6 sided ring he’s really suprised me because while his matches have not been really bad his promo skills have gone to another level and i’ve loved his work with Nash, Borash and Jarrett.

This past Thursday on iMPACT, Foley thanked Abyss for saving him at Hard Justice by giving him a gift, maybe Foley wants the bounty on Abyss’s head and with his connections with Dr Stevie, i’m hoping that Foley turns against the fans and goes after the money and more importantly Abyss.

The match has never been done before, and quiet frankly i’m suprised that TNA have held it off for so long (they rush into feuds far too quick) could we be seeing a Hardcore Masacre at Bound for Glory?

The World Title Match: Fatal Four Way?

For me the World Title Match should be something more than a predictable Main Event for Bound for Glory. Over the past couple of months Matt Morgan has shown he can hang with the best in the World Title Scene and I personally feel he deserves his shot at the gold.

TNA wants to go with the Bobby Lashley vs Kurt Angle match but having no previous matches in TNA, it does not seem a good move for him to debut in ring and automatically get a World Title Shot. So I would personally go with the Triple Threat Match until I forgot about Hernandez.

Hernandez has a title shot he can cash in any time, it would make perfect sense for him to do so at Bound for Glory and really stake his claim to become the next TNA World Heavyweight Champion. This could also set up a interesting feud with Morgan and how Morgan deserves his shot and he feels Hernandez is taking that away from him and interupting his time.

That way TNA can keep it’s Lashley vs Angle hype they have been doing since Lashley debuted, and allow the current storyline to continue and also build up the future stars in TNA. People will pay for Bound for Glory if they give them the time and something fresh, having the Four Way would certainly do so and would kick off the next year in TNA.
