On a week where TNA released one veteran due to a refusal to put over a younger talent, there was an incident at last night’s iMPACT tapings where Former X-Division Champion, Chris Sabin looked to have seriously injured himself during a match with Team 3D the match continued to the sheer anger of Kevin Nash.
Kevin Nash has a reputation of a man who refuses to do anything for younger guys in the buisness, and has had this reputation since the days of WCW where he also ended the streak of Bill Goldberg. Nash booked himself to defeat Goldberg while booking the show, many wrestling journalists have since then used this against him as many belive he was using his new found power to benefit only himself.
Since his arrival in TNA many have questioned the reasoning for him being with the company, due to the fact that his better days have long gone but Nash has been around the company for 5 years now, and worked closely with alot of younger guys including Samoa Joe, AJ Styles, both on and off screen. Nash is still a valuable piece of the TNA puzzle and recently signed a new deal with TNA which once again did not go down well with alot of wrestling fans.
It’s rumoured that last night during the iMPACT tapings, Nash was furious for the simple fact that Sabin was injured and nobody stopped the match in order to attend to him in what could of been a seriously nasty injury. Nash came to the ring to cut a promo and publically critisied the company for not looking out for another wrestler’s health, and got in a heated altercation backstage with a number of fellow workers.
Kevin Nash publically declared his concern for another worker, and showed his passion not only for Sabin (who he has no involvement with currently) but the TNA product and the way people go about there jobs. Somebody should of stepped in and stopped the match in order to attend to Sabin, normally if it’s a live show it’s possible it would of concluded until the match was stopped but the fact that it was a TV taping and they could of rewritten the match is key to the issue and TNA needs to address this correctly and take advice from Nash in regards to what direction productively TNA need to head towards.
I can understand regarding people not wanting to say anything due to the risk of losing there jobs, but when another workers health comes into the situation it’s time for somebody to step in and take responability. Also what interests me is the fact that Nash was watching the match when he had no involvement at all, this also shows that Nash is wiling to watch other guys and help develop them into the stars that TNA wants them to become, we as wrestling fans can be glad that there are others out there who care about fellow workers health and have the balls to stand up when he feels that others don’t.
Thank You Kevin.
