WWE today released the “Samoan Bulldozer” Umaga, and we once again ask the same question we always do when a WWE worker is released, Will TNA be interested?
Considering how much time recently they’ve spent on Umaga and his good feud with CM Punk I’m rather surprised to see him removed from the company, at this moment in time there are no details onto why he’s been released and generally if he’s failed a drugs test they generally name and shame the worker on there website.

Umaga is a talented individual who can work a good match if given the chance and time, the only problem is getting him over with the crowd and he seemed to have struggled to do this since they released his former manager Armando Estrada but now with both of them available, could we see a possible Umaga vs Samoa Joe match in TNA?
It’s going to be a interesting 90 days to hear if there are any interests from TNA, even for a month or two to elevate Joe further and prove that he is the most dominant force in Wrestling today, Umaga would not be a bad signing at all.
Today is yet another milestone in TNA’s history as they celebrate 5 years of iMPACT! on National TV in America.
Back in June 2nd 2004, TNA debuted their weekly TV show “iMPACT” on FSN and were on the channel until May 2005 where contract talks broke down and TNA decided to go dark, later to be picked up by Spike TV after they decided not to renew the WWE contract.
During the FSN era, TNA averaged a 0.2 every week in a difficult timeslot which not always delivered, now TNA is viewed by an average of 1.2 which shows the major developments the company has gone through since FSN, something the company should be very proud of considering how much work has gone into making TNA what it is today.
June 2nd also is another milestone day for TNA; they debuted the Six Sided Ring on the very first broadcast and to this day have broadcasted every show using the Six Sided Ring, which has become the signature look for the company and has changed the way we watch wrestling every week throughout the world.
Congratulations TNA!
Early 2003 Ken Anderson made his debut in TNA Wrestling teaming with Shawn Daivari (Sheik Abdul Bashir) where they both were defeated by Glenn Gilberti & Mike Sanders on the 26th February edition of TNA Xplosion. TNA wanted to sign Ken but at the time contract talks broke down between Ken and TNA owner Jeff Jarrett, WWE moved on the rest is history.
Last week Mr Kennedy made his return (from injury) to Monday Night RAW where he interrupted a Randy Orton promo and later on in the show was apart of the “Big” 10 Man Tag where he nearly re-injured WWE Champion Randy Orton. Reports are that things did not go so well after the show and Two Senior WWE workers complained to Vince and basically Ken was fired by Friday afternoon.
Personally throughout his WWE run I was never a fan of Mr Kennedy, I like Ken himself but I always thought the Character became a little stale and that he worked allot better as a Heel rather than a Face but the talent was there to be seen and I was willing to give Ken a chance and wanted him to become successful because he seems a good guy and that he had worked for TNA and I always want those who have worked for TNA to go on and be successful in the WWE.
I honestly cannot say I was surprised that Ken was released, due to his bad history of Injury’s and his “Big Mouth” I was rather surprised he lasted that long and with the WWE releasing allot of guys with history of being injured I always thought Ken would be next in line, but the way he was released and the timing for me really confuses me but considering how much RAW right now is a very poor show with no really interesting characters nothing surprises me.
So what is the future of Mr Anderson? I think unless you’ve been under a rock for the past 3/4 days I fully expect him to join TNA after his “Prison Sentence” has been served and he’s available. While there are still some doubts on his work in the ring there is no better company to learn the ropes than TNA, he wont be over exposed and he’ll be given the time to get back in shape and working at a high standard. Also he’s a young guy who seems really eager to learn and be successful in the Wrestling business, the only problem I have is that he could be the same mould of Christian where after a couple of years he packs his bags and goes back North to the WWE.
Ken has another chance to help put TNA on the map, after 6 years of being away he could take TNA to the next level.
First of all i’d like to Apologise for the lack of Updates over the past week due to me being in Rome for the Champions League Final which excluding the Result was a fantastic trip and an amazing experience. Anyway enough about me and things are back to normal here at TNARevolution including a new layout which i think you’ll all agree looks a whole lot better and some new features here which we hope will encourage for our viewers to plug the site where possible.
Things are moving along just nicely in TNA and with Slammiversary just around the corner it’s generally one of the most exciting months in the company which kicked off with the return of Raven & Shane Douglas this past week on iMPACT plus the debut of Victoria which is possibly the best signing TNA have made for along time.
We’ve not added the “Tweet” plug-in which you can promote the TNARevolution News on Twitter (which is the Latest Internet Craze right now) so please if you like what you read give us a “Tweet”.
Anyway stay tuned for more updates on the site, don’t forgot to check out our Forums which recently have really picked up with a number of posters returning to the site from TNAEurope.com and be sure to sign up to our RSS feed as we will be looking back at a number of classic Slammiversary moments in the next couple of days.
Tonight was the debut of “TNA Epics” not only in the UK but throughout the World and after the first show i can see Ratings taking a big hit if TNA decides to continue with the current format. While I’m delighted that Bravo is giving TNA an extra hour a week to continue the good viewership they have drawing lately, after watching the debut show i believe the current format will not work for a number of reasons.

While i like the idea of each show having a certain match format i just don’t feel long term it will work, basically the show had 3 extended highlight matches and no real details on the feuds, workers or the whole concept of the matches.
“TNA Epics” needs to be a show where each week TNA headlines the show with a match, show the match in full or if not extended highlights and the rest of the show have a real in depth look at the match, superstars and the whole feud. Educate the viewer with the tag teams, what they stood for and a brief history of them, this will have the viewers wanting more through the show or it’ll encourage them to go find out more about them.
Add promos and a showcase the history in TNA, feuds like Christopher Daniels vs AJ Styles, Jarrett vs Raven, Angle vs Joe have some fantastic promos out there and a real good history which in Raven vs Jarrett case drew a lot of attention and got a lot of people into the original TNA.
Overall I’m disappointed with the debut show, and hope TNA can learn from the mistakes and go down the route of really making me want to watch this show every week and educate me again on TNA, having matches I’ve already seen is good but there missing the whole picture. To have a really good match you have to have really good hype, TNA has that SHOWCASE IT!

The Guns are starting to make a real iMPACT in TNA and the recent microphone time has most certainly kicked the team onto the next level. Every TNA fan knows that both Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley have all the talent in the world and together they are possibly the most exciting tag team in North America today but there lack of character development has held both of these guys back from getting more national exposure but how things have changed.
Recently the Guns have been on a mission to show the world that it is indeed Christopher Daniels (or “Daniels”) behind the Suicide mask and while they are right, the direction there going with this angle is really working well at this moment in time and I’m actually excited to see a potential Suicide/Daniels vs Motor City match.
Alex Shelley on the stick has been fantastic, he’s enthusiastic, cocky and brings good interaction with the crowds unlike others in TNA, he feeds of there emotions and really deserves a lot of praise for his recent work. Sabin’s not given as much time but he’s doing some good work and i feel there both starting to get over as heels which is a real credit to both guys.
I cannot tell you how refreshing it is to hear a new voice on TV, wherever it’s a Interviewer or a returning worker, it beats hearing the same voices each and every week and that’s not a criticism of TNA it’s just a general opinion that people including myself listen when somebody else is on the mic and given the time to put there opinion across.
Continue to use the Guns and allow them to have a voice on the show because it’s working and will continue to do so if there given the tools.

Let me start out by saying that TNA Lockdown was not can’t miss pay per view. Ok, now that we have that out of the way… I recommend this show to TNA fans. It wasn’t knock you off your seat, but it was full of good wrestling, good matches and a great crowd. This show delivered all you can ask for, $30 worth of entertainment. Lockdown was a HUGE difference from WrestleMania. While Mania had its MUST SEE match, TNA had seven solid matches that were actually entertaining. Lockdown also had some nice surprises and lots of energy.
The X-Division Xcape match was a great way to open the show. Lots of action and good end with Suicide diving off the top of the cage on to the security below. I hear rumors that Kaz was not under the mask last night and Daniels was pulling double duty. If that is the case, major props to Daniels for risking his health in the opener on that dive.
Speaking of Daniels, am I the only one that thinks his handle bar mustache gives him that 1980s porn star look? Seriously, what is up with that?
Queen of the Cage is being called the weakest link on this show, and it probably was, but I personally enjoyed it. I loved seeing Daffney in the ring and feel that Bolt and Madison Rayne did a good job helping to get ODB over in this match. All around it was a fun match that you pretty much knew the outcome of going in.
The IWJP Jr Tag titles match was awesome. MCMG, LAX and No Limit worked their asses off and made for a very fun match. I was a bit surprised that MCMGs retained the belts here as I was thinking No Limit would get the nod, but They will probably meet again soon in Japan. Great match.
Matt Morgan vs Abyss was better than I thought it would be. The crowd was pretty dead for it and I can’t blame them. This feud seems like it has been going on forever and I am personally sick of it. I liked that Stevie Richards came out during the match, but come on Tenay and West… only a blithering idiot didn’t know he was Dr. Stevie. With that distinct voice TNA should have masked it if they wanted it to be a surprise. Anyway, I liked the blood and the intensity of the match and can only hope the feud is over and the Abyss/Stevie Richards feud kicks into high gear now.
Angelina Love looked to have been knocked out, pardon the pun, after that flying cross body from Taylor Wilde during the Knockouts Championship match. Taylor had to kick herself off Love during the two pinfalls she made after the move and when they showed Love in the chin lock she looked a little bit like “where the f**k am I?” That said, I love the title change here and the match was booked perfectly. The roll-up came off poorly, but when the winner is knocked silly you have to call and audible. Good match on this one.
Here we are in Philly and Team 3D is putting not just the IWGP tag titles, but their TNA careers on the line. If anyone thought Beer Money was walking out of this match victorious, they are morons. This was the feel good match for the crowd and these two teams didn’t disappoint. Awesome match between the two with a fun brawl to start things off.
Lethal Lockdown for me started off as it always does… slow. As much as I like Daniels and Angle, five minutes before the next competitor is just too long to wait. I prefer a 90 second deal and to have the teams ringside during the match just like Wargames used to be. Once the weapons are lowered things get interesting. Angle and AJ on the top of the cage was great. Angle teased going off the top of the cage a few times and that was pretty awesome, but AJ jumping through the top of the cage onto about five people below was insane! Add to it the fact that those five wrestlers completely missed catching AJ and you have to imagine Styles was in a little bit of pain after that one. Top it off with the chair shot from Jarrett and AJ had one hell of a night. I didn’t really care for the end where Jarrett had both Styles and Booker T wobbling and he told Styles to watch as he clocked Booker with the guitar. I think it would have been more dramatic if Jarrett popped AJ and then hit the stroke on Booker T for the win. It would be his way of saying you shouldn’t doubt my allegience AJ.
And then it was the reveal of the first former “world” champion from another company… drum roll please \/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/ BOBBY LASHLEY!?!?!? I would be lying if I said I wasn’t on the floor laughing at that one. First off, Lashley never was a “world” champion since the ECW title isn’t a world title belt. Secondly, Lashley isn’t really a big name in this business. I hope he does well in TNA, I really do, but him as a major signing just does nothing for me.
And now we arrive at the main event of the evening. Mick Foley has been superb over the last several weeks in the build up to this match. He appears to have lost some weight and taken this run very seriously. While last night’s match against Sting wasn’t the classic showdown that Beach Blast 92 was, this match was still fun. Foley played the classic heel to a tee and really made this a fun match to watch even if both men are a little broken down. TNA gave us one hell of a shocker when Foley won the match too. It was something a vast majority of people didn’t see coming at all. I give them props for that one. I am very interested to see where they go from here though as you have one past his prime champion handing the belt over to another. I am not saying these guys suck, but they just aren’t who they were in ten years ago.
Overall, TNA Lockdown was a very fun, very entertaining card with no major booking issues or swerves. As I said before, get this PPV on replay because it is worth three hours (and it went 2:56) of your time.
Lockdown most certainly shocked a lot of wrestling fans last night and that’s without a really interesting title change where Mick Foley (Yes Mick Foley!) became the NEW TNA World Heavyweight Champion, where TNA debuted Former ECW World Champion Bobby Lashley and started a new chapter in both TNA and his career.
Personally I’ve not seen a lot of Lashley, at the time of his run in the WWE i never watched the product and I’ve certainly received mixed reactions of his signings. Neither less Bobby now is a TNA member and I’m really interested to see what direction they go with his signing because last night it most certainly seemed that Angle was happy for him to join TNA, but Lashley pointed towards him. The heart says he’ll fight the Main Event Mafia and this is another signing by Jarrett to prove he is with the Front Line but in TNA you never know because they can thrown just about anything out the window.
What Lashley’s signing does prove is that right now TNA is on a fantastic run and the company is really eager to push the company forward and get to the next level. With the recent Daniels return and the Front Line starting to be used more effective TNA finally looks to be turning the corner and iMPACT most certainly for a number of weeks now has been the most exciting Wrestling show on TV regardless how poor the WWE is right now.
It’s going to be intriguing to see what this weeks iMPACT brings and what direction they are going to go.
TNA Mobile a number of days ago sent world that TNA is to present TWO Former World Champions at this Sunday’s Lockdown PPV, but who are they going to be?
We can basically confirm that former ECW World Heavyweight Champion Taz will be one of the debutants tonight at Lockdown, but in what capacity will he debut? In a recent statement from Taz he confirmed he will NOT be returning to the ring which is a big blow for TNA because the possible Samoa Joe vs Taz match had alot of fans excited but Taz confirmed he will not return to the ring because of Injury’s and the fact he feels he cannot work at a high standard anymore.
The other debutant is causing some interest within the Wrestling Community in which a number of names have been mentioned including RVD, Bobby Lashley but i personally believe the other debutant will be former WWE Womens Champion, Victoria. In a recent interview Victoria confirmed that she has held talks with TNA regarding her possibly coming into the company for a number of appearances, like Taz if she does join it will be interesting to see how she comes into the company and the sensible option is for her to come in and battle the Beautiful People, who right now are the hot team in the Womens Division and will be more than likely tonight holders of the Knockouts Championship.
Lockdown is shaping up to be one of the most interesting PPV’s of the TNA year both in and out of the ring, TNA needs to deliver tonight and start to build up a trust between fans and the PPV’s because they have taken a BIG hit over the last year.
Enjoy Lockdown TONIGHT!
